Also held positions of CIO-Equities, North America and Head of Institutional Sales, North America Selected by Global CEO of Asset Management to lead the US investment company’s aggressive sales/profit plans.

Effectively utilized internal resources as consultants for this project, thereby building internal buy-in at substantial cost savings. Recommendations accepted by parent and are being implemented.

• Strategic Plan implementation delayed by compliance issues and downturn in performance that necessitated a quicker path to increased profitability. Created a comprehensive plan that retained the portfolio management and sales elements (and profitable growth) of the strategic plan intact while reducing staff by almost 50%.

• Disposed of under performing and non-strategic operations – specifically, triggered sale of 401(k) platform and mutual funds. Carefully assessed future potential and sold both operations for high prices and redeployed resources into more profitable areas.

• From a starting point of poor relations between US affiliates of ABN AMRO built a strong, synergistic relationship with sister company, LaSalle Bank.

• Grew business to $2 Billion in sales in a market 1/10 the size of the US. Personally built the business through an effective sales approach focusing on innovative solutions addressing client investment, marketing and administrative needs. Achieved accelerated success through focusing product lineup and prospect list (first sub-advisory and then endowment /foundation).

• Effectively sold and positioned products resulting in recognition by Greenwich Research as the leading international manager in Canada for quality of investment staff.

• Added staff judiciously; linked staff additions to reflect business growth. Strategically leveraged recruiting firm through proactive identification of potential needs.

• Initiated global innovation committee at ABN AMRO Asset Management to stimulate full leverage of global capabilities. There had been few innovative ideas apparent in the organization over a period of many years. Appointed co-chair of this worldwide innovation team.
